Spring Creation 30"x30"x1.5"
Spring Creation was a really fun experiment for me in underpainting, layering, removing paint and repeating. What transpired was a really neat depth that had a striking resemblance to a wildflower garden. The longer I looked into this the more clear some flowers became and with a few simple brush strokes they emerged. It's fun to get lost in this work and it's one of those pieces that you see something new in every time you look at it. Quite often when people step into my studio they are amazed at how calming this work is as well as how different it looks in person. Unlike some paintings that become clearer the farther you step away, this painting becomes clearer the closer you get.
