There is a long history to this canvas. It tells stories that are no longer visible as I have painted over them. Initially, this started out as a painting during the first months of the pandemic. It sat finished in my studio for months. It was a good painting, but I could not figure out why it was not done. As the winter winds down here in Northern Minnesota, I finally realized that Covid, although overflowing with creative material, was not really something I wanted hanging on a wall. At least not the way I initially portrayed it. Then, thinking I would let something a bit more hopeful or positive find its way out, I painted this. Theresa, artist and owner of Star Prairie Studio, spent years working as a business analyst for the State of Minnesota before becoming disabled in 2009 by Lupus, Sjogrens Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis . Her writings speak to life lived with a chronic and incurable disease. Her paintings represent that journey, often times exploding with energy and color, symbolizing qualities such as beauty, strength, vulnerability and grace. She is not limited to one particular style, but displays work rich with honesty. Her artwork resonates with many,...

Thank you Linda! What a thoughtful comment. It’s nice to know you appreciate the work. ☺️ I’ve had a series of family tragedies that have kept me from painting - it felt good to get something out there. Thank you!!

I see the emergence of spring in the pastel colours that you've used. My most favourite of the paintings in your gallery are the ones, such as this, where texture is a feature. Lovely work Theresa. L/F
