Artist's Description

This painting was done around the same time as Black Eyed Susan and with much the same intention. To create something new and light. I had just created Black Eyed Susan and was still in the mood for wildflowers, but did not want to fall within the confines of the traditional, so I kept it abstract. I also had just used a very bright palette, so I kept this much more subdued. Because of the back lighting of the computer, this appears a bit brighter and more saturated then it actually is. The original is somewhere between “eggnog” and “butter” in color, with shades of light green olive tones. I used a tremendous amount of texture on this one and I love it. I truly like how the paint has crept into the cracks of the dried paste and given it such depth. This one is one of those paintings that is actually better seen in person than on the computer. It would go well in any space, but particularly well up against a darker wall, such as gray, steel blue, brown or green. This was a fun summerti...

Theresa, artist and owner of Star Prairie Studio, spent years working as a business analyst for the State of Minnesota before becoming disabled in 2009 by Lupus, Sjogren’s Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis . Her writings speak to life lived with a chronic and incurable disease.
