We should chat sometime! It's always good to get inspiration from others who "know" what it's like. I think we are ALL brave. Just to keep going with these awful diseases qualifies us!

No Theresa, I just love your work! And the fact that you keep working!

Thank you. I've been really sick lately and it's been difficult. Probably the toughest it's been since first getting sick. I'm about to start a new chemo regimen and feeling a bit down. This was such a nice boost for me. Thank you.

Theresa, thank you for sharing the process of the creation of this artwork. It shows that with perseverance and adapting the way in which you work you can still create and more than that create something with a deeper meaning. Wonderful work! L/F

Linda, thank you so much for such a nice comment. I've been back in the hospital and really struggling lately with being able to do much painting at all. Seeing this comment again makes me remember why I'm doing this in the first place. Thanks for taking the time to say what you did. :-)

Artist's Description

This work was actually a work in mindfulness for me. I started the piece when my lupus was flaring and I was unable to stand up and paint. So I sat out in my studio on the couch and just clipped out things from my Mindfulness magazine that I wanted to concentrate on. It was the perfect way to start a painting. As soon as I was well enough I slowly and purposefully started to mix and move paint around the canvas. Paying close attention to the play of the colors and shapes. I ended that stage when I was ready to, not necessarily when the piece was done. I was not sure if I wanted to add the clippings or not, but then I decided that if I wanted to keep the work, in the end it would be a nice reminder to me of the lessons learned. So I did! I truly like how it ended up. Its a good piece to just sit and look at. There are many phrases and quotes that are barely visible. Even I seem to find new ones every now and then! It would be a lovely work to have hand in a quiet...
